Time Efficient

Recommendations for Use
For Minor Etching
MB-11® is ideal for minor etching that is not rough to the touch and does not cover an extensive area. It allows for easy, at-home restoration.
For Severe Etching
If etching is severe, rough to the touch, or covers a large area, professional restoration services may be required to achieve the best results.
Preventative Care
Regular sealing of marble surfaces every 6 months to a year is crucial to prevent future staining, but does NOT prevent etching. Unfortunately, etching is only prevented when topical applications are applied. Call us for recommendations for that and finding a professional near you who can help.
Safety Information
Child Safety
Keep MB-11® out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion or contact.
Additional Information
MB-11® is not recommended for use on granite or honed marble surfaces. It is specifically formulated for polished stones.
Professional Help
For severe etching or if the surface is rough, seeking professional help is advised to ensure the best possible restoration results.
Maintenance Tips
Post-Application
After using MB-11, it is important to reseal the marble surface as the original sealer may be compromised during the etch removal process. Regular maintenance will keep your surfaces looking their best.
Preventative Measures
Regular cleaning and proper care will prolong the beauty and longevity of your marble surfaces. Using place mats, trays, or other preventative options will help keep etching to a minimum.
Note:

Preparation:
- Be certain to test the product first on a spare tile or inconspicuous area for extra caution before use.
- Use rubber gloves at all times when handling the product.
- Clean the surface with something like our Easy Oxy Daily Cleaner.
Directions:
- Use rubber gloves. Grab a clean white cloth or microfiber and fold it twice to make 4 layers. Wrap it tightly around your fingers/knuckles. Hold the loose portion of the towel in your hand so that it stays out of the way while you work. Dampen the wrapped fingers by spritzing them with water. Remove any excess water as you want your cloth damp, not wet.
- Tap your damp cloth into the powder in the jar to get a THIN layer on your wrapped fingers/knuckles. There should be a consistent layer of powder, but no excess flaking off.
- Rub the affected area vigorously with the wrapped fingers in a back-and-forth motion. This should be done quickly and with a lot of pressure. After about 10 back-and-forth motions, finish up with a few circular motions.
- If you have any residue left do NOT wipe it away with the cloth until you have neutralized it with a pH-neutral cleaner like our MB-5. Use the loose part of the towel to wipe away the paste in a single motion. Spray the spot with a pH-neutral cleaner and buff clean with a SECOND microfiber cloth. Do NOT use the same cloth used to apply the product.
- Inspect the repaired area and repeat the process with the same cloth as necessary. Adding more water if needed.
Sometimes the area may need to be resealed. To determine if you need to seal your stone, try doing a water test on the stone’s surface.

The MB-11 is for spot repair because it has to be used in a 2"x2" section at a time and is applied by hand. If you could please send us some photos, I will be happy to take a look and hopefully try to point you in the right direction. You can email them to me at mail@mbstonecare.com or text them to me at 252-289-1584. Thanks

I followed all the instructions however, after I removed the etch, there’s some marks left on marble top. Are there any trick to make the polish perfect ?

The best trick is to work in small 2 inch areas at a time. In most cases when clients remove the etch but do not get a good shine or there is residue left, is because they were working in to large of an area at a time. This product is designed to treat only 2 inch areas at a time, this is because you will not be able to gain enough friction and momentum by hand to re polish the stone. You can try the process again being sure to only work in small 2 inch areas, to get the results you are looking. Also If you want to send us some pictures of the stone, we will be happy to take a look. Send pictures to mail@mbstonecare.com

Each stone has its own individual makeup and might require different techniques to acquire the proper finish. You may always contact us for more information. Find detailed directions and how-to video on the Guides tab above.
What's the Difference Between Honed and Polished Marble?
It's important to choose the right marble product for your home. Polished and honed versions have many similarities and differences. Let's learn about them below:
Shine - Honed marble tends to have an unpolished and matte finish. The surface doesn't really reflect light and features a more natural appearance. However, polished marble is shined and smoothed with abrasive materials to reflect the light. That gives it the bright look. Shined marble is more common in homes, but honed marble is becoming increasingly popular.
Durability - Both honed and polished marble are similar in this area. It's a natural stone, so it's tough. However, you must seal it to prevent etching and stains. Honed marble has a duller and rougher surface, so it doesn't show imperfections as easily. Polished marble repels stains better because its surface isn't as porous.
Color - Marble comes in many colors and gradients. Even countertops from the same slab might have a different hue if it's polished.
Aesthetics - You should also think about the aesthetics of your bathroom or kitchen when choosing between honed or polished marble. They are made of the same material, but the finish you select completely changes their appearance. Honed marble works better for natural and organic decorating styles because it creates a warm and neutral backdrop for other decorative touches. Polished marble, on the other hand, features a high-end and refined look. It pairs well with decorative lighting and ornate features and can stand alone as the decoration in the space because of its sheen.
Why Does Marble Leave Etch Marks?
Etch marks ruin the beautiful appearance of your marble surface. However, polishing powder can remove them easily.
Marble features calcium carbonate, which reacts violently with acidic agents, such as basic hand soap and household cleaners. Whenever they touch the marble, those acids create light scratches and etch marks in moments.
Generally, marble etch marks show up as dull and light because the acid reacts to them and physically dissolves some of the top surfaces. Once that happens, the marble below is exposed. It's not polished, so it can cause dull spots compared to the polished surroundings.
What Are Some Tips for Using MB-11® Marble Polishing Powder?
Your goal is to remove marble etch marks from the surfaces. You can prevent etching by using cutting boards and mats when making meals and beverages. Here are a few tips for using MB-11® Marble Polishing Powder:
Don't put too much of the product on the marble surface, or you could damage it. Less is more. You can always repeat it if you don't get rid of the etches./li>
Use a white towel to prevent pigments from the material staining or entering the space while you're polishing the stain away.
Create a paste with the polishing powder, either using a few mists of water or adding a few drops to the powder.
For safe practices, wear gloves.
Use a slightly moistened and clean white towel and rub the area until it's dry, but don't apply too much pressure here.
To get a professional touch, spray a little more water on the area, using the same part of the towel (with residue), rubbing in circles. Use a quick back/forth motion with higher pressure to produce the shiny, dry surface you want.
Repeat the process as necessary.
Use a pH-neutral stone-safe marble cleaner at the end to neutralize the polishing powder during removal. Our MB-5 product works well!
